The work
Regional operations and the data those operations threw off. Unglamorous, ground-level work, and the best product education available. Owning the operational reality first-hand means you stop guessing at what users need and start seeing exactly where the process breaks.
From friction to systems
The pattern that defined the role: recurring operational pain. Reconciliation done by hand, a hand-off that kept failing, a number nobody could trust. Each one became a case for a system or an automation. That translation of friction into initiatives is the bridge from operations into product ownership.
Why it's here
Airriva is the origin of the throughline that runs through everything since: accountability for a system and the people inside it. It's the first rung of the SKYL climb from operations into product leadership.
The shift
The recurring operational problems were no longer isolated exceptions. They were system problems. Solving them pulled me from operating the business into owning the software that operated it.
